It is with profound sadness that the family of Johnaven Matthew Puszka announces his passing. Johnaven tragically lost his life in a car accident on April 24, 2025, at just 20 years old.
Born on July 1, 2004, in Waterbury, Connecticut, Johnaven was the son of Thomas J. and Valery (LaRochelle) Puszka. He was raised in Waterbury, where he graduated from Kennedy High School. Recently, he was working at Milkcraft Ice Cream-a job he genuinely enjoyed and took pride in.
Johnaven was a kind and humble young man who lived simply, loved deeply, and remained fiercely loyal to those he cared about. He shared an especially close bond with his brother, who he looked up to and considered his hero. Johnaven had a passion for tinkering with cars and enjoyed spending time playing video games.
In addition to his parents, Johnaven is survived by his brother, Thomas L. Puszka of Waterbury; his aunt, Lisa M. Pitt of Beacon Falls, who lovingly helped raise him; his maternal grandparents, Michael and Connie Massimo of Oxford; and his cousins, Drake John, Antonio, and Alexx Pitt. He also leaves behind his uncle Josh Pitt, uncle and aunt,Jim and Debbie Koeller, and many close friends who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his sister, Ashlynn Trinity Puszka.
Johnaven's spirit, loyalty, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Arrangements: A celebration of life for Johnaven will be announced at a later date. Brookside Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 200 Benson Road, Middlebury has been entrusted with handling Johnaven's services.
