Johnnie Christo Horton Brewer passed away April 4, 2025 at the age of 81. She was born in Centreville, Alabama on June 30, 1943 to the late Collins Horton and Nolayer Horton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Welford Brewer; brothers, Bobby Horton and J.C. Horton and grandson, Robert Kelly.
She is survived by her children, Charlie (Wanda) Horton, Jeffery (Lydia) Smith, Debbie (Bruce) MacGregor, Chrissie Carroll (Steve), Sandy (Milton) McCormick, J.W. (Rita) Brewer, Willis (Stephanie) Brewer, Willie (Stephanie) Brewer, Andy (Ashley) Smith and Anthony (Deeanna) Brewer and bonus son, Tate Perry; 23 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce (Sammy) Tyler of Pine Hill and Levie Horton of Marion; brothers, Jamie Horton of Marion Junction, Allen Horton of Marion and Eddie (Susan) Horton of Valley Grande.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home at Pineview in Valley Grande with Pastor John Goings officiating. Interment will follow at Pineview Memory Gardens. Visitation will begin at the funeral home in Valley Grande, beginning at 1:00 p.m., prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Andy Smith, J.W. Brewer, Steven Pitts, Scott MacGregor, Jason Horton, Justin Johnson, Anthony Brewer and Curtis Kynard. Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Brewer, Willis Brewer, Jeff Smith and Charlie Horton.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Traditions' Hospice for their loving care.
