Mrs. Johnnie Ruth Craig

Johnnie Ruth Craig, passed away on February 10, 2024, in Plant City, FL, at the age of 77. Born on March 18, 1946, in Bartow, FL, she was the cherished only child of the late John Belcher and Thelma Kay. Johnnie's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and faith.
Johnnie's journey through life was shared with her beloved husband, George W. Craig Jr., with whom she built a beautiful and enduring legacy. Together, they raised a family of five children: Donna (Richard) Chancey, Bruce (Cindy) Hall, Tony (Gloria) Craig, Matthew (Teresa) Craig, and Brian (Harmonie) Craig. She was the heart of her family, which grew to include 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.
A devoted homemaker, Johnnie's love for her family was evident in every meal she cooked and every moment she spent nurturing her loved ones. Her gift of cooking for many will be passed down for generations.
Johnnie was a regular attendee of Full Gospel Tabernacle. Her interests and hobbies were as rich and varied as her life. She was an avid freshwater fisherwoman, with a fondness for catching catfish, and she took great pleasure in tending to her yard, and mowing the grass. Her competitive spirit came out during card games and while cheering on her favorite baseball team, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
Known for her firm and loving hand, Johnnie could wield a flip flop or a switch with the best of them. Her family will fondly remember her for her unwavering support and the life lessons she imparted with a gentle word, strong hand, and a loving heart.
Johnnie leaves a legacy of love that was felt in every hug, seen in every smile, and heard in every word of encouragement she gave. Her presence will be deeply missed.
Friends and family will be received Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Haught Funeral Home, 708 W. Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd, Plant City, FL 33563. A funeral service will follow at 3:00pm with Pastor Jim Brady officiating. A committal service will follow at Mt. Enon Cemetery where Johnnie will be laid to rest.
