Mrs Johnnie M. Smith, age 79 of Wilmington, Delaware passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of Ora Mae Moore and Johnnie Taylor. She graduated from Wilmington High School.

Prior to retirement, Mrs. Johnnie was a longtime banquet server and event caterer at the Hotel DuPont. Additionally, she also owned and operated her own home hair salon. Johnnie was a foster care parent for Presley Ridge for over 20 years.

Mrs. Smith enjoyed ceramics, including operating three kilns in her basement, surrounded by her inventory of paints and molds. Johnnie had a strong faith in God and praised her life with the Lord.

In addition to her late parents, she was preceded by her husband, Raymond R. Smith ; his sisters and brothers, Shirley, Terry, Faye, Clinton, Larry and Jimmy.

She is survived by her daughters. Angela Taylor; her grandchildren, Courtaney Taylor and Diamond L. Brown; her great grandson, Donovan, her sisters, Rose Vaughn and Barbara Taylor-Jones and a host of nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Williams Funeral Home and Burial Services. Services are private.
