Johnny Edward Benedict

Johnny Edward Benedict, a Coalgate resident, was born on March 23, 1944, to Johnnie and Jacqueline Alice (Lout) Benedict, at McAlester, OK. He passed away on August 12, 2022 at Coalgate, OK at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 20 days. Johnny graduated from Hartshorne High School then attended Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton. He was an Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper retiring after 28 years of service. Johnny served in the National Guard and the Army where he received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He married Carolyn Ann Guinn on March 3, 1967 at Haywood, Oklahoma. They were blessed with 55 wonderful years together. Johnny was a member of the Adamson Baptist Church. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. Johnny enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
