Johnny Lynn Jones III was born in Rapid City, South Dakota on August 2, 1985. He and his family moved to San Antonio, Texas, when he was a child.
In elementary school, Johnny developed a desire to cook after impressing his family with different well-seasoned and prepared dishes. He was in Middle School Band and played the Saxophone and French Horn. He received his High School Diploma from Highland High School in San Antonio, Texas.
After relocating to Nevada to be closer to his sister and brother-in-law, Johnny began his profession as a line cook and worked his way up to chef at Harrah's Casino in Laughlin, Nevada. He was then asked to work in Harrah's Atlantic City, NJ due to his outstanding work ethic.
Upon his return to Texas, he went to work at Office Depot, where he met his wife. Johnny worked a variety of part-time jobs once his health began to deteriorate. Cooking remained a source of joy in his life, alongside the affection of his children, wife, extended family, and friends.
Johnny is survived by his wife Marisol Castañeda Jones, as well as his three children, Johnny Lynn-Alexander Jones IV, Marilynn Aurora Jones, and Hennessey Jones (Aiden).
