Johnny H. Jones, age 84, of Ashland City, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Vantage Pointe Village in Ashland City, Tennessee. He was born on May 30, 1940, in Chevrolet, Kentucky, to the late Paul E. Jones and Annie Jones. After Johnny and Shirley (Davis) became a couple in 1974, they purchased a bakery/restaurant in Ashland City. The many customers they encountered in the town gave them the opportunity to own and operate their own painting company, Johnny and Shirley Jones Painting. After 20 years of serving the community with their painting and decorating talents, Johnny pursued his lifelong dream of opening a funeral home. On November 4, 1994, Cheatham County Funeral Home, LLC opened. With his beloved wife, Shirley, at his side, they were blessed with a successful business for 30 years. In Johnny's eyes, "Cheatham County Funeral Home was not a business; it became a home to everyone who stepped through the doors." Johnny's generosity, compassion and kind soul will never be forgotten by the many families he has served.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul E. Jones and Annie Jones; brothers, infant triplet Jackie, A.J., James, Carl and Sammy Jones; sisters, Queena Faye Jones and Eva Lou Clark; son, Justin Pedigo; beloved grand dog, Boomer. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Ann (Davis) Jones; daughters, Kim (Jones) Schauinger of Indiana and Teresa (Jones) "David" Eads of Ashland City; son, John Eric Pedigo of Ashland City; bonus daughter, Chonda Pierce of Ashland City; sister, Sue (Bill) Cooper of Ashland City; brothers, Joe (Sylvia) Jones of Indiana and triplet, Jerry (Alice) Jones of Indiana; grandchildren, James "Do" (Mikayla) Lochard, Amanda Davies, Crystal (Caleb) Wiles, Shannon Lochard, Dustin (Samantha) McConnell, Morgan McConnell, Keri (Jarrod) Frye, Sara (J.R. Edens) Thompson, Mandy (John) Lammers, and Kala (Adam Barnes) Pedigo; 20 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Sunday, October 27, 2024, at 3pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home. Burial will follow in EverRest of Cheatham in Pleasant View, Tennessee. Visitation will be Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 2pm to 6pm and Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 12noon until the service hour of 3pm. Serving as active pallbearers are James Lochard, Dustin McConnell, Carson Baucom, Preston Newland, J.T. Smith, Kris Whitsey, Joey Olivas, and Sylvester Hudson. Honorary pallbearers are the staff and former staff of Cheatham County Funeral Home, LLC. Cheatham County Funeral Home 615-792-2552 on-line condolences at www.cheathamcountyfh.com
