Johnny Lowell Paulson, 76, of
Parsons, Kansas, passed away Monday, December 4th, 2023 at his home surrounded by family.
Johnny was born on June 19, 1947 in
Parsons, Kansas, to Allyne Martin (Ford) and was later adopted by Lowell D. Paulson and Shirley Paulson. He grew up and attended schools in Parsons and graduated from Parsons Senior High School in 1965. After graduation he went on to complete a semester at Labette Community College and later went on to receive a certificate from General Motors Training Center,
Shawnee Mission, KS, in April of 1966. In February 1966 he enlisted in the Army National Guard and served for 6 years, attaining the rank of Sergeant.
In April of 1966 Johnny married Joy Cramer. They had two sons together and later divorced in 1972. In 1974 Johnny married Sharon Hesting, they had a son together and later divorced.
On September 5, 1981 Johnny married Judy C. Dixon (Johnston) and they had three children together. Judy had a son from a previous marriage who Johnny adopted after they were married. Johnny and Judy were married until Judy's death in May of 1993.
On April 2, 2014 Johnny married Kyleen Wolverton, she survives of the home.
Johnny worked at Grandview Products for 13 years. In 2003 he retired from Ruskin Manufacturing after 21 years of employment. Johnny took great pride in his employment longevity. He was a hard worker and valued his job.
Johnny loved baseball and was an avid Kansas City Royals fan. He enjoyed taking his family and friends to Royals games. He very rarely missed a televised game of the Royals. He enjoyed regularly taking out his daughters (his "girls") to breakfast, something he had done with them since they were young. He was extremely proud of his children and never missed an opportunity to brag on them. In his spare time, he enjoyed fixing things and working with his hands. He always had to be doing something, he did not enjoy being idle. He was a proud member of Elks Lodge No. 527. Johnny was a great friend to many and was always ready to lend a helping hand.
He was proceeded in death by his birth mother and his adoptive parents.
Survivors in addition to his wife Kyleen include five sons, Michael A. Paulson,
Rockford, IL; Russell W. Paulson,
Rockford, IL; Brodie L. Wurtele,
Rock Port, MO; David W. Paulson, Wichita, KS; James L. Paulson,
Pittsburg, KS. Two daughters, Audrey L. Wertz (Jacob) and Kayla C. Wilson (James), both of Parsons. Ten grandchildren with one on the way. Three brothers, Wallace Byrce Martin Jr, Thomas L. Cheek, Timothy M. Cheek; one sister, Judy L. Parks and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 8, 2023 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home with Pastor McReynolds officiating. Inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery with Military
Honors given by the Brown-Bishop Post No. 704, Veterans of Foreign Wars. The family will receive friends from 9:00 until service time Friday. Memorials are suggested to the
