Funeral Service for Johnny Mac Riggs, 71 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Mineral Springs Freewill Baptist Church in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Blackjack Cemetery in Muldrow, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
He was born on October 11, 1952 in Sallisaw, OK to Laura Genevieve (Wilson) Riggs and Wesley Otis Riggs and passed away on November 26, 2023 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He was married to Barbara Allen (Peterson) Riggs on June 27, 1997 in Mountainburg, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on February 25, 2015. Johnny Mac was a retired carpenter and avid baseball card collector. He was a member of Mineral Springs Freewill Baptist Church where he loved to sing bass in the choir. He also loved to research and study family genealogy (and tell you about it)! John could remember details and dates better than Google and never met a stranger! He loved his family, friends and Facebook. He thought his niece and nephews could do no wrong.
Survivors are two brothers: Randy Riggs and Debbie of Howe, OK and Wesley Riggs and Donna of Pocola, OK; two sisters: Deborah Snider and Richard of Muldrow, OK and Kim Howard of Pocola, OK; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and grandparents.
Active Pallbearers will be Kelly Pipkins, Kane Riggs, Shane Riggs, Cole Howard, Tyler Howard and Lyndon Emberton.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Amy White, Jaycen Pipkins, Richard Snider, Michael Riggs, Christopher Riggs, Barry Riggs, Kendal Riggs, Larry White, Bryan Howard and Heath Woods.
Visitation will be 2 – 8 pm Thursday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow where the family will greet 6 – 8 pm.
