PEORIA – Jolaine B. “Jo” Scoville (Watson) was born June 23, 1978, in Muskegon, MI. She passed away at her home April 25, 2023. Jo was well-loved and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and by those whose lives she touched.
Jo was the daughter of Dennis and Jackie Scoville, who raised her with great care and love. She was a devoted sister, daughter, aunt, and a loyal friend to those who knew her. Jo touched many lives in a positive way. She was kindhearted and cared deeply about others. Jo was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her infectious smile and laugh along with her playfulness brought joy to everyone around her.
After high school, Jo felt a calling to serve her country. She proudly served as a Marine for several years reaching the rank of Corporal. Jo was bestowed with multiple honors, badges, and awards. After she served in the Marines, Jo joined the Army National Guard, where she also served her country. Jo looked back on her years of service with a sense of pride and accomplishment. She continued her service to others by working with the VA in multiple roles throughout her life.
Jo lived life to the fullest and enjoyed traveling and spending time with loved ones. She was an avid reader, music lover, adventurer, and enjoyed crafting.
Jo had a special bond with her nieces and nephews. She was a devoted aunt who was active throughout their lives. Her love for them was immeasurable and her presence in their lives will be deeply missed.
Jo was preceded in death by her father, Dennis, her maternal and paternal grandparents, and her great nephew, Kyler Wyatt.
Her passing is a great loss to all those who knew her. She will be fondly remembered for her kindness, laughter, bravery, and selflessness. Rest in Peace, Jo. Thank you for being your unique self. You will be greatly missed and will always hold a special place in our hearts.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Pekin.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army Central GPD Tip program for Veterans.
Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton is handling arrangements.

When she was first born I thought she was so beauful and how luck I was to have baby girl and had dark blue eye wave hair with cute smile and she had litte pink sleeper she came home in then I feed bottle when she was hunger and rocker her sleep some time sing to her as rocker then cover up in litte pink blanket

I remember when you came to Muskegon to visit, and we talked about Jolaine's name and the fact your bio-mom Laurie named you after your Uncle Joe, and after me, your Aunt Elaine...I was so excited to spend time with you and get to know you more as a person, we miss and love you so Much...:-)

Jolaine was my sister Laurie Colson's biological daughter. She was named after myself and her Uncle Joe. We had the opportunity to get to know Jolaine and found her to be very caring, so full of life, with a great sense of humor. She will be missed by all, condolences to friends and family. ..
