EAST PEORIA – Nancy F. Bowen, 77, of East Peoria, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Apostolic Christian Skylines in Peoria.

She was born on August 2, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, to John and Frances (Loecher) Byrnes. Nancy married William "Dave" Bowen on July 20, 1968, in Chicago, Illinois.

Surviving are her husband, Dave Bowen of East Peoria; daughter, Laura Reiman (Lance) of Morton, Illinois; son, Scott Bowen of St. Charles, Illinois; and grandchildren, Kate, Claire, Nolan, Bella and Mia.

Nancy was a devoted wife and loving mother whose creativity and gentle spirit touched all who knew her. A true artist at heart, she found joy in exploring many forms of art, always bringing beauty and imagination into the world around her.

Some of her happiest moments were spent near the water - vacationing with family and friends at the lake or the ocean, where laughter echoed, stories were shared, and lifelong memories were made. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and her memory will be held in our hearts forever.

As per Nancy's wishes, her body has been donated to the advancement of science.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Morton, with Pastor Jeff Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday, prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethel Lutheran School Fund through the Morton Community Foundation, https://cfmorton.org/bethel-school.
