Jolee Asay Thompson passed away peacefully in the dedicated care of her loving husband on January 21, 2026 at their home in Brigham City, UT. She is now watching over her family while fulfilling her new calling on the other side of the veil.

She was born February 24, 1955 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Richard Aaron and Anna Marie Johnson Asay. They moved to Brigham City when she was very young.

She was known for her kind, heart, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family. Jolee was deeply loved by all who knew her.

Jolee lived her life rooted in faith, service and compassion. She was sealed to her eternal companion and love of her life, Randal Neil Thompson, on September 12, 1975. They recently shared their 50th wedding anniversary this last September.

They built a home filled with love. Jolee was a devoted mother to her four children that she raised with grace, patience and unconditional love. Her family was the center of her world, and she had a special love for babies, finding joy in holding them and caring for them.

She faithfully served in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in many callings throughout her life, quietly blessing others through her dedication and selflessness. She especially enjoyed being a temple worker in the Brigham City Temple. Jolee had a gift for making people feel cared for and valued.

Jolee graduated from Box Elder High School. Jolee then attended Utah State University, where she formed many friendships that she treasured in her life. She spent a few years working at JCPenney and Shopko until she returned to college at Weber State University when her oldest son began his college journey at the same university. She demonstrated her determination and love of learning. She became a radiologic technologist and worked at Brigham City Hospital, where she served patients and coworkers with compassion, professionalism and warmth.

Jolee was an avid Gardener making her own yard beautiful as well as her parents. She loved to sit on the porch in the evenings to see her flowers and enjoy the beauty that came from all her hard work.

She could make anything with a sewing machine and was a true artist when it came to cross stitch. She also loved doing puzzles and many other types of crafts. She loved to spend hours and hours in her “Babe Cave” working on her various sewing and craft projects. This included her continuing the tradition of making Christmas socks for each member of her family as it grew after her mother passed away.

Jolee Asay Thompson will be remembered for her gentle soul, generous, heart, and deep love of her faith and family. Her legacy of kindness and service will live on in the many lives she touched. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
