It is with immense sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother/grandmother. After a courageous battle with cancer, she passed away peacefully during the early morning of December 8, 2023.
Jolene was born and raised in Ogden, Utah the daughter of Jay Olaf Nelsen and Ruth Claran Olsen-Larson.
She worked as a Tax Examiner for the IRS. (She hated it) but retired in 2016 after 30+ years. She
would also work part-time jobs to make sure her children had what they needed and to make ends meet, she was an extraordinarily strong independent woman.
She will be remembered as a very loving mother/grandmother who was always there to talk and vent to and would always have advice, and the first to help and care for ailing relatives throughout the years. Her favorite times were spent with family and friends at BBQ’s, birthdays, and holiday gatherings, and if there was a competitive game of volleyball she would get right in there and compete with all the kids. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and had a green thumb for gardening.
She is survived by her children, Carlos Archuleta and his wife Lacey, Vanessa Copeland and husband Bryan, Theresa Wayment and husband Justin; 11 grandchildren, Mick, Kolby, Kyson, Gabriel, Kayla, Aspen, Payton, Kenadie, Carlos Jr. Alexia and Jayce; two great grandchildren, Brexton Thomas-Jean and another on the way Walker Cobe-Ray.
The family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 W 5600 S, Roy.
