Jon Finsness Obituary
Jon Christen Finsness, 70, of Folkston, GA passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. He was born in St. Paul, MN on May 14, 1953 to the late Stanley E. and Patricia Jean Finsness. Jon served in the United States Navy for 22 years. He was a wonderful “Papa Jon” to all of his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister; Deborah Darr.
He is survived by 4-children; Jon S. Finsness, Erik W. Finsness, Katelyn M. Finsness, and Robin Benkufsky, his companion of 23 years; Marilyn Johnson, wife; Lisa Finsness, 3-brothers; Nathaniel Finsness, Christopher Finsness, and Jamie Darr, and 6-grandchildren; John David Finsness, Ella Marie Finsness, Dalton Mizell, Alayna Mizell, Morgan Eldridge, and Layton Mizell.
Memorialization will be by cremation. A Memorial will be held from 11:00 AM -12:00 PM on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home.
Condolences may be expressed by signing the guest registry at www.shepardrobersonfh.com. Funeral services are under the direction of Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home, 526 Oakwood Street, Folkston, GA 31537.
