Jon Bruce Founds passed away on February 14, 2025, in Milford, Delaware, at the age of 82. Born on February 14, 1943, in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, he lived a life marked by dedication and service.
He and his wife Dawn had three children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In his youth, Bruce was actively involved in the Boy Scouts, earning the esteemed God and Country Award -a reflection of his commitment and strong character. This dedication to service continued throughout his life as he volunteered for many years as a firefighter, always willing to help others and contribute to his community.
Beyond his service, Bruce had a deep passion for fishing. An avid fisherman, he spent countless hours by the water, embracing both the tranquility and challenge of the sport. Whether casting a line alone or sharing stories with fellow anglers, fishing remained a cherished part of his life.
Bruce was known to have a gift of gab as he would strike up a conversation with anyone. In the midst of service, you would find him refinishing furniture, home improvements, and landscaping, which were true pastimes he enjoyed. He wore his heart on his sleeve, you knew exactly what he felt and many times he was touched by tears.
Bruce's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his legacy of service and passion bring comfort to all who remember him.
