Jon Joyce Obituary
Doug was born on Wednesday, December 23, 1964, in Waco, Texas, and he was the son of Penny (Rhett) Joyce and the late OJ Joyce.
Doug was a loving husband, father, Poppy, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a prankster who loved to make people laugh and always had a joke to tell. "According to Doug, he was the prime example of the male species". He was always willing to help and always showed up for his family and friends. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Doug was loved by those who knew him, and he will be greatly missed.
Doug is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Loretta Joyce; Daughter, Christy Underwood and her husband, Richard; 2 Grandchildren, Josh and Millie Underwood; 2 Brothers, Jay Joyce and Mike Joyce; Father-In-Law, Sherrill Pharris; Sisters-In-Laws, Judy Williams Chatman and Kathy Jones; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
In addition to his father, Doug was preceded in death by Paternal Grandparents, Anita and Garner Joyce; Maternal Grandparents, James and Penelope Rhett; Mother-In-Law, Betty Ann Pharris; 3 Brothers-in-law, James Jones, Wyman Williams, and David Pharris; and Special Pet, Almond (Goofy).
Funeral Service for Doug Joyce will be held Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Bryan Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 12:00 pm until the time of the service at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.
