Jon Paskiet

Jon Paskiet passed away peacefully on January 17th with his wife Sandy by his side. He was born on April 12th, 1939 in Sheboygan, WI and graduated with the Sheboygan Falls class of 1957. Jon work at Kohler Company for 10 years before becoming a Firefighter for the City of Sheboygan in both the engine and ladder truck companies. He started his career with the department in 1967 and retired after 27 years of service. It is here where Jon made many great and lasting friendships. While working for the department, he served as secretary of the Firefighters Relief Association for nine years and Vice President of Local 483 of the International Association of Firefighters. Jon loved to volunteer his time and was very active in Muscular Dystrophy telethons, local blood drives and was instrumental in the annual Bratwurst Day held in Madison for state lawmakers and their aides. After retirement, he devoted most of his time helping people. He loved cutting lawns and shoveling snow for the elderly, driving for the County for anybody that needed a ride, and purchasing and delivering Thanksgiving meals for families in need. He also made lasting friendships when he started delivering for City Bakery in Sheboygan where he worked for many years. Jon's passion was being with his grandchildren. He spent many hours watching them compete in sporting events, listening about golf tournaments and even learning how to bake and sew. He never missed an opportunity to spend time with them. Jon is survived by his wife, Sandy of 29 years, daughters; Lisa (Art) Jackson and Lori (Gerard) Gallenberger; Stepsons Travis (Dana), Todd (Jen) and Toby Corson. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Sam Jackson, Karyssa (Drew) Behnke, Devin (Ashley Reinemann) Gallenberger and Riley Corson along with many nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws. Jon was preceded in his death by his son Jeffry Paskiet, the mother of his children Barbara Calvert, his parents Walter and Miriam Paskiet, Barbara's parents Walt and Lois Roelse, sister Maryann Griego, in-laws Ralph and LaVerne Rudie and many special friends. A celebration of life will be held on January 28th, honoring Jon at Christian Life Church, 300 Rustic Street, Plymouth, WI 53073. Visitation will take place at 1:00 pm with a celebration of his life starting at 2:00 pm. A memorial fund will be established in Jon's name to help local charities. Jon's favorite last words were "Gotta Go" so dad, go in peace now, knowing you were loved by many and lived your life to the fullest.
