Michael. L. Buettner, 71, of Port Washington, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, November 2, 2025 under the care of the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.
Mike was born in Milwaukee, WI, to his late parents, Carl and Eunice, on March 26, 1954. God "broke the mold" that day.
Mike had a great sense of humor and was quite the jokester. Anyone attending Homestead High School in Mequon from 1968 to 1972 heard "Mike Buettner to the office" almost daily. He was most likely proud he was part of the morning announcement.
Mike grew up "A little rough around the edges" as his father would say. High school was more of a game for him than a place of knowledge. He was also a proud member of "The Guzzlers" during his high school years.
Mike's zest for life continued in the following years, planning yearly rafting trips on the Wolf River in Northern Wisconsin for 100's of party goers.
He grew out of the "party animal" stage and became a very loving friend and family member. His laughter and sense of humor will be held in our hearts forever.
We have all done our best to enjoy/weather Mike's antics up to this point, but he's God's problem now!
He is survived by his siblings, Bob (Michelle) Buettner, Barb (Terry) Murray, Charlene (Jay) Clayton, and Colleen (Bob) Kupfer; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Beside his parents, Carl and Eunice (Stan), he was preceded in death by his two brothers, David and Dan.
Rest in Peace, dear Mike.
Mike's farewell tour will be held at a later date in the form of a "Celebration of Life".
