Jon Gregory Witt

Jon Gregory "Greg" Witt, 78, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, at the Hospice House of Williamsburg, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Born on March 7, 1947, in Fayetteville, West Virginia, Greg was the son of John and Constance Witt and grew up with a deep appreciation for family, service, and adventure.

A proud Vietnam Veteran, Greg served in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1970. After his honorable discharge, he earned his BBA in Marketing from Marshall University in 1973. He went on to build an accomplished year career as an Information Technology sales executive, supporting the U.S. Federal Government with a special focus on the Intelligence Community and the Department of Defense. Known for his professionalism, integrity, and dedication, Greg earned the respect of colleagues across the industry.

In 2010 Greg semi retired to Boothbay Harbor, Maine, where he continued working remotely for IBM and Clear Cube Technology. He later moved to Williamsburg in 2017 and spent two years as a Concierge at the Williamsburg Inn and Lodge-a role he cherished for the opportunity it gave him to welcome and connect with people. His commitment to service extended beyond his career. Greg was an active and proud member of the US Mobile Riverine Force Association, the USS Washoe County LST 1165 Association, and The American Legion. He was also a devoted member of Jamestown Presbyterian Church.

Those who knew Greg will remember him as a man who loved deeply-his family, his friends, his animals, and his church home. A lifelong baseball enthusiast, his passion for the game began in childhood and stayed with him throughout his life. Greg embraced living fully and was always ready for the next adventure, whether it was travel, a new job, a new home, or a new idea.

Greg is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patricia Cooper; his sons Nicholas Gregory Witt of Viera, FL, and Aaron John Witt of Williamsburg, VA; his granddaughters Skylar Leigh Witt of Florida and Caapi Neela Witt of Hamburg, Germany; his sister Stephanie Koren (Jon) of Florida and their family; his brother Paul Witt (Erica) of West Virginia and their family; and his aunt, Connie Jones of Oregon.
