Obituary Life and Legacy
Rev. Dr. Jonathan Dwayne Berry was born January 22, 1953 in Marion County, Indiana. He was the eldest of three children born to George Jr. and Gwendolyn Berry.
Rev. Berry put up a courageous fight with cancer and on October 5, 2022 at 6:00 PM
God said, "The fight is over and has already been won"!
Rev. Berry attended Crispus Attics High School and the University of Purdue, Indiana. He received a Doctorate Degree from Bethel College.
In 2009, Rev. Berry joined Mt. Olivet Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor James Thomas where he served several ministries. He was appointed under Rev. D. Spence as a Co-Chair Associates Minister. He also loved being a part of the Prison Ministry where he would minister and guide young men.
Rev. Berry enjoyed spending time with his grand-daughter Kierra and great grandchildren TyVon and Amaria. He was a wonderful, loving grandfather and great great-grandfather to a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rev. Dr. Jonathan Berry is proceeding in death by his father: George Berry, Jr., and mother: Gwendolyn Berry. His wife: Laverne Berry; sister: Paula Marie Berry; son: Curtis Lamont Miles; and grandson: Raheim Bell.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving sister: Anna P. Berry Rice; his children: Carlos Miles, Jonathan Miles (Robin Miles), Brandon Cooper, Demetairs Bell, Felicia Fox (Duane Fox Sr.), and Derrick Bell. Grandchildren: Kierra Zulu, Raheem Thompson, Taj'Reed Bell, Shaheed Bell, Gahone Bell, Amira Bell, Shailah Ridinger, Duane Fox Jr, Derrick Bell Jr, Michael Bell, Darnell Bland Jr, Maxine Miles, Jonathan Miles and Twyla Gilder, Anyisha Taylor, Terriana Lloyd, Akiya Taylor. Great grandchildren: TyVon Mitchell, Nickolas Thompson, Amaria Davis, Kasen Thompson, Destiny Bell, Miyani Collins, Jamir & Armani Bell along with many nieces and nephews.
