Jonathan 'Jon' Cobbett, 61, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 10th at his home in Haverhill, MA.
Jon leaves behind a daughter, Erica Cobbett, and three grandchildren, Trinity, Mason, and Lyllian, all of North Carolina; a son, Andrew McDonough, of Maine; his mother, Mary (DiPrisco) Foucht, of Beverly; a sister, Debbie Kennedy, of Swampscott. He was the brother-in-law of Chris Kennedy and loving uncle to Amy Malone of Merrimack, New Hampshire, Rachel Kennedy-Caggiano, and Sophia Kennedy, both of Lynn. He leaves two grandnephews and one grandniece who all knew him affectionately as "Big Bad Jon". He also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends including many in the emergency medical service industry.
Jon is predeceased by his father, Laurence Cobbett, and brother, David Cobbett. Jon was also the stepson of the late Byron 'Bob' Foucht of Beverly. He also had two beloved Boxer dogs, Sam and Milo.
Jon was a 1983 graduate of Swampscott High School. He spent many years working on the North Shore as an emergency medical technician, then as a paramedic for both Lifeline and Cataldo Ambulance Services. He also worked as a paramedic at Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill. He was a licensed CPR instructor. He later returned to school, becoming a licensed practical nurse and working for the past 10 years at the Middleton House of Correction.
Jon enjoyed riding his jet ski, fishing, and cooking out at his family's summer camp in Maine. He loved to ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and participated for many years in the Laconia, New Hampshire Bike Week with friends.
His presence, sense of humor, and memorable fashion choices were a staple at many family holidays and events. Jon had a kind heart, a ready joke, and a laugh that was infectious. He was always ready to lend a hand to others in need and generous to all he knew. He was well loved by his family and many friends and will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Jon's memory to My Brother's Table, 98 Willow St, Lynn MA 01901 or at Donations & Gifts - My Brother's Table. All services for Jon will be private.

Jon was one of my first riding buddies when I was just starting to ride a dirt bike and Jon was riding a mini bike that was way too small for him. I have fond memories of those days. Life was much simpler back then. Condolences to Jon´s family and friends.

Jack Quinn, we will miss this guy, we had some great times together!
