It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jonathan Edward Gideon, 39, of Fort Worth, Texas on Sunday, January 7, 2024.
Jonathan was born on November 9, 1984 to Gary Andrew Gideon and Glenda Marie Means in Tyler, Texas. He was raised in and graduated from Whitehouse, Texas. He thoroughly enjoyed playing baseball throughout his life. His passion and dedication for the game paved the way to earning a full scholarship to LSUS in Shreveport, LA. He graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. Jonathan was dedicated to his career and worked diligently in everything he did. He has been employed with LGI Homes for the past two years, where he happily excelled in construction management. Prior to working for LGI Homes, he was employed with Alfa Cantor as an account manager for four years.
Our Jonathan had the most generous spirit and was profoundly kind. He was well known for his sense of humor, and ability to light up a room with his contagious smile. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and loved them immensely. He had an adventurous spirit, and enjoyed traveling with his friends. Jonathan had a special gift that made everyone feel welcomed, and he listened without judgment. He was always there for those he loved, especially if he sensed someone struggling in any way, big or small. He had an enormous heart for animals, and one of the great loves of his life was his dog, Zoe. During his leisure time, Jonathan enjoyed playing golf and baseball, fantasy football, and watching movies.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother and step-father, Glenda and Mark Means; father, Gary Gideon; grandmother, Joan Bartnesky; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Brittany Gideon; half-brother, Kyle Gideon; step-sister and her husband, Amber and Steven Randall. He was also the proud "Uncle Bobby" to Brentley and Paislee Gideon, and "Uncle Jon" to Kieran Randall. As well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who he cherished dearly.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his grandparents Charles and Helen Gideon, and Eddie Bartnesky. Along with his beloved dog, Zoe.
Memorial services for Jonathan Edward Gideon will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home in Tyler, TX. A rosary will be held from 1:00-1:30 p.m. with visitation from 1:30-2:00 p.m.
