Eugene Mark Gideon

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eugene M. Gideon, known to many as Mark, on May 5th 2025. Mark's life, though concluded too soon, was rich with experiences and a vibrant spirit. Born in Martinez, California, he called Benicia home for the past three decades.
His passions were many and deeply felt. Mark was an accomplished fisherman, spending countless hours pursuing his love of the water and the thrill of the catch. This passion extended to hunting and crabbing, reflecting his appreciation for the natural world. His dedication to physical prowess and discipline is further reflected in his lifelong practice of martial arts.
Beyond his hobbies, Mark held a strong connection to his heritage as a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. This identity was a source of strength throughout his life.
Mark is survived by his two daughters, Michelle and Rachell, and his two beloved grandchildren, who will carry his spirit forward. The hole left by his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time. May his memory be a blessing.
