Jonathan Alan "Jon" Montgomery

Jonathan (Jon) Alan Montgomery, a caring son, brother and uncle, passed away on December 30, 2024. We find peace during this difficult time knowing that he is with Jesus, our LORD and Savior.
Born to James W. and Kathryn E. Montgomery on May 15, 1966, in Portsmouth, VA, Jon was a quiet man with a kind and gentle soul and deeply cared about his family and friends. Whether it was building fences, assisting with home projects, or offering financial support without hesitation, his servant's heart shone through in all he did. After the passing of his father, Jon provided strength and comfort to his mother, offering his unwavering care and support. He loved golf and looked forward to playing any chance he got. He also enjoyed watching golf, football games and fishing shows. He was gifted and could build or repair anything, he took pride in contributing his skills to church projects and helping others.
Jon's compassionate nature extended to his work at LCU, where he not only valued his coworkers as friends but also developed a special bond with the stray kitties, he cared for there. His quiet kindness, dedication, and sensitivity to both people and animals leaves a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Jon will be remembered as loving and caring and we will miss him.
Jon was preceded in death by his father, James W. Montgomery.
He is survived by his mother, Kathryn E. Montgomery; 5 siblings including, Becki Kerr (Chris), Jim Montgomery (Natalie), Jane Montgomery, Amy Huber (Brian), Joshua Montgomery (Dori) and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is being planned for a later date. Information will be provided by his church when scheduled.
