Jonathan Edward Pettit was born Feb 27th, 1959, to September 11th, 2025, passing in his longtime home of natural causes. He was born to the parents of Ralph Eric Pettit and Mary Jane Edwards Pettit of Kaysville Utah. He attended Davis High school and graduated 1977, He leaves behind his two daughters Shelby Ann Pettit Butler of Roy, Utah, Kiley Jeaneane Pettit Orton (Jordan James Orton) of Roy, Utah.

Jonathan’s heart and life were devoted to his six grandchildren Rylee Butler, Bentley Butler, Easton Butler, Nicko Pettit, Carter Orton, Weston Orton, his mother Mary Jane Edwards Pettit, his father Ralph Eric Pettit, Elaine Pettit of Farmington, Utah. Siblings: Mary Ann Pettit Nelson of Layton, Utah, Judy Pettit Loveland of Kaysville, Utah, Christine Pettit Keeler of Midway, Utah, Ralph Pettit of Clearfield, Utah, Jim Pettit of Safford Arizona, Vera Pettit Wright of Pearl City Hawaii, Heather Lyman Pettit of Farmington, Utah, Shawnette Page of Farmington, Utah and many nieces and nephews who adored him.

Jonathan always had a love of the great outdoors, Fishing, Hiking, Camping, and Riding 4wheelers with his family, He was the ultimate mountain man. He had an amazing relationship with his dogs, He got married to Sherie Evans Pettit on August 29th, 1989. He was a collector of family heirlooms. He cherished memories from his childhood. Later in life he gained a love for cabinetry and started his career at North Davis Cabinets, He later went back to OWATC trade school for Welding where he finished his career with retirement in Feb 2025. After retirement he enjoyed life to the fullest,

Jonathan will be terribly missed, our hearts are broken at his passing, we have been blessed to have him in our lives. We love you and we know you are up in heaven now with your Mother Mary Jane Pettit, Father Ralph Pettit and Wife Sherie Pettit, Brother Richard Pettit, as well as many other loved ones watching down on us,

Funeral Services will be held Friday September 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd. Layton, Utah. Friends may visit family Thursday September 18, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton.
