Jonathan Ray Trout, 30, passed away at his home August 10, 2024. He was born September 3, 1993, in Brush, CO and grew up in Morgan County, graduating from Brush High School in 2012, then from Morgan Community College in 2013, earning his Welding Certification.
Even in rough times, Jon's smile lit up the room, and he could always be counted among those ready to enjoy a good time. He would fight hard, but he loved his family fiercely and always had their backs.
Jon always felt a need to be doing something, and could never sit still, unless in the middle of planning his next activity. He enjoyed mowing and taking care of the yard, gardening, fixing whatever was broken, being outdoors, playing his bass guitar, chasing storms, camping, boating, riding dirt bikes and going for walks. Some of his favorite activities included riding motorcycles and trips to Mexico, working on cars and spending time doing anything with his dad. He loved his dog, Diesel, and enjoyed Ranch Dressing on every type of food.
Jon had formerly worked for Western Clean-Up, Dorn Ready Mix and Frank Buchanan Construction. He was currently employed by Savage Industries. He had an appreciation for community, volunteering as a member of the Brush Fire Department and had recently been attending Calvary Baptist Church in Fort Morgan.
Jon was preceded in death by his sister, Kiaera Trout, aunts Angie and Catherine Trout, grandmother Ann Trout, grandfather Mason Benton, great grandmothers Dorothy Sanders, Howard and Joyce McClure, George and Elaine Barker, Roy and Cathrine Baughman, great uncle Melvin Mclure and his beloved dog, Diesel.
He is survived by his parents, Richard and Keri Trout of Brush, and Missy Trout of Weldona; grandparents, Keith Bath, Mike and Cathy Dahl, all of Fort Morgan; David Trout, Tresea Benton and Howard Schilling all of Brush; aunts and uncles Kent Bath, Jerry Hodge, Shane and Jeanette Benton, Marty and Jessica Schilling, Tracy Schilling. Siblings include Kiefer (Lindsey) Olson, Torie (Kasey) Wolfe, Dylan (Ali) Olson, Taiton Trout (Tori Jordan), Matthew Redden, all of Fort Morgan; Kaitlyn Call (Brian Shoenecker) of Akron; Katie (Dennis) McGrath of Tampa, Florida; Elizabeth (Mike) Frost of Ruskin, Florida; Brittany Call (Matt Linker) of Hillrose; Kaleb Green of Juneau, Alaska. Also, great uncle Doug Barker; nieces and nephews Danaeley, Ryett, Wrenley, Rosie, Paisley, Kadence, Kip, Kyla, Cooper, and his God Parents, Ryan Stroh and Christine Castoe.
He had so much life left to live and has left us way too young. Jon is deeply missed by his dad, Richard, with whom he spent most of his time, his entire family, and all those who knew and loved him.
Services will be Monday, August 26th at 11:00 AM at The United Methodist Church, 117 East Bijou Ave. in Fort Morgan. Lunch will be served following the service.
Friends may make memorial donations to the Jonathan Trout Memorial and send to Heer Mortuary, 225 E. Platte Ave., Fort Morgan, CO 80701.
