Johnny Raymond, age 80, of DeMotte, Indiana, passed away suddenly on October 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Owensboro, Kentucky, on May 20, 1945 Johnny was the son of Thomas Raymond and Alma Wyatt. He left high school to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Navy. After his time in the military, Johnny worked various jobs throughout his life, most notably spending over a decade as a welder with Federated Metals before retiring from Wolverine Boots. Johnny was a man of many passions. He loved fishing, shooting pool (with a bit of a reputation as a pool shark), and shooting guns. 'Wrastling' was enjoyed on the TV as well as live. He was also a former member of the VFW in Michigan and was a very proud member. But above all, music was at the heart of his soul-singing, dancing, and playing guitar brought him the most joy. Many who knew him fondly referred to him as "Johnny Cash." Johnny was previously married to Deborah Raymond, and the couple raised four children together. He is survived by his children and their families: Shannyn (Paul) O'Danovich, grandchildren Pauly and Kayci, and great-grandchildren Jacob, Benjamin, Brooklyn, and Madelyn. Shena (Jeff) Schultz, grandchildren Alexandria, Josh, and Jeffrey, and great-grandchildren Jayden and Aleena. Donald (Jessica) Lindsey, grandchildren Danielle, Brittney, and Jonathan, and great-grandchildren Giovanni, Nicholas, Cassandra, Natalie, and Vincent. Rebecca (Chelso) Newbolds, grandchildren Chelso, Joe, Ethan, Brandon, DeAnn and John, and great-granddaughter Lavelle. He is also survived by his siblings, Kenny and Kitty, as well as many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Raymond and Alma Wyatt. A memorial service to celebrate Johnny's life will be held at Integrity Funeral Service in Wheatfield, Indiana, Sunday, October 12, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
