Eleanor Joan Raymond

Norfolk, VA - Eleanor Joan Raymond, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, in Norfolk, Virginia, at the age of 94. Born on April 2, 1931, in Somerville, Massachusetts, she lived a full and vibrant life marked by love for her family and dedication to her career as a former travel agent.

Eleanor was a high school graduate whose journey through life was filled with the joys of family and the wonders of the world. Her favorite things in life were her grandchildren, and she cherished every moment spent with them, bringing joy and warmth to their lives as only a devoted grandmother could. She also loved dancing, travelling and shopping.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Philip Henry Raymond; her parents, Paul and Germaine (St. Onge) Estee; brothers Paul Estee Jr and Eugene Estee and her sister, Ann "Snookie" Shackleford. Her memory will forever be treasured by those she leaves behind, including her children: Michelle Clements (Mark), Dianne Pellaton (Roger). Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren, Chad Shipman, Rachel Shipman, Paige Pellaton, Ryan Clements, and Megan Clements. She is also survived by her brothers, Charles Estee and William Estee, her sister, Dorothy Uttaro, and many cherished nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Eleanor will surely be missed by all who knew and loved her. Her kindness, wisdom, and gentle spirit touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
