It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Jonnie "Jon" Garner, who passed away on April 9, 2024, at UC Hospital in Cincinnati. He was born on July 30, 1948, in Dayton, OH, to the late Clayton and Irene (Barker) Garner and graduated from Germantown High School, class of 1966. Jon enjoyed fishing, cooking and rarely missed a Valley View football or basketball game. Jon was known for his playful and teasing spirit that brought laughter to all who knew him.
Jon leaves behind his beloved daughter, Beth (Patrick) Dickey, and son Jonathan (Mary) Garner to cherish his memory. Along with his grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Clayton and Evan Garner and Drew and Kaitlyn Dickey. Known for his sense of humor and his knack for giving people a hard time, Jon will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
In honor of Jon's life there will be a visitation and memorial service held at Arpp, Root & Carter Funeral Home, 29 N Main St. Germantown. Details of the services will be shared within the next few days. We will always hold his memory close to our hearts as we reflect on the joy and laughter he brought into our lives. May he rest in peace.
