Marti Helmers, a fiercely devoted and endlessly capable woman, passed away unexpectedly on July 23, 2025, at Miami Valley Hospital following an unforeseen event. Born October 24, 1975, in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, Marti lived a life defined by courage, love, and unshakable grit.

A graduate of Coffman High School in Dublin, Ohio, Marti carved out a path that was uniquely hers. Most recently, she served as a logistics manager, where her tenacity and sharp instincts earned respect and admiration. But Marti was never one to be limited by titles. She also served her community as a police officer, firefighter, and EMT—roles that reflected her instinct to protect and care for others. She was a skilled contractor who took great pride in what she built with her own two hands. Her work, like her life, was tough, thoughtful, and full of heart.

Marti wasn’t just a builder of things—she was a builder of relationships. Whether she was laying a foundation, repairing a roof, helping someone plan a project, or offering a hand and her toolbox without being asked, she approached each task with care and conviction. She built more than physical structures—she built a solid and loving home for her husband, her daughter, and herself, where safety, laughter, and support were always in steady supply.

At the center of Marti’s world was her daughter, Emily Helmers (Joseph Gardner), to whom she gave her whole heart. Marti approached motherhood with selflessness, consistency, and deep intention—raising Emily with love, strength, and the kind of guidance that leaves lasting roots. She was deeply dedicated to creating a healthy, supportive family and modeled that devotion through presence, hard work, and unconditional care.

She was also a stepmother to Jed Helmers (Mimi Zahedi), and a joyful, devoted grandmother to Layla Bohanon and Matilda Helmers. She shared a lifelong bond with her brothers, Matthew Placek and Rickey Placek (Maureen Fagan), who will carry her strength, humor, and guidance with them always.

Marti was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Greg Helmers, and her mother-in-law, June Helmers, whose memories remain a source of comfort and inspiration.

To know Marti was to witness someone who showed up—always. Whether in crisis or in celebration, she was there, sleeves rolled up, heart wide open. She leaves behind a legacy of action, affection, and authenticity that will live on in every life she touched.

She was a protector, a builder, a nurturer, and a force.

To have known Marti Helmers was to feel loved—completely and without question. And to love her was the honor of a lifetime.
