Jordan William Hobbs, 42, of Chesapeake, Virginia, passed away on November 12, 2025, in his home after a two-year battle with brain cancer. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle. Jordan was born on December 26, 1982, to William Hoyte Hobbs and Karen Marie (Akins) Hobbs. A native of Chesapeake, he was a 2001 graduate of Oscar Smith High School. After high school, he worked many different jobs within the transportation industry. He first worked for K-SEA transportation as a deckhand. In this role, he travelled to and from New York City every two weeks to work on the boat. Before the arrival of his first son, he decided to change careers to stay closer to home. In 2012, he began working for Norfolk Southern as a conductor. He later worked for Behr Transportation as a driver and in fleet management. Jordan was passionate about playing golf, collecting bourbon, UNC basketball, Washington Commanders football and playing with his two boys. Jordan will be remembered for his love of family, his humor and his calm presence. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Stephanie (Roenker) Hobbs and their two sons, Gavin and Nathan; his parents "Billy" and Karen Hobbs; his brother, Joshua Hobbs and his wife, Michelle; his father- and mother-in-law, Raymond and Michele Roenker; brothers-and sisters-in-law, Wendy Roenker, Matthew and Dawn Roenker, Laurie and Gary Parker, Kelly and Andrew Cordova, Christie and Ryan Velazquez, and Emily and Michael Amland; and 10 nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Hirsell and Lenora Hobbs, and John and Edith Akins. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jordan's memory may be made to The V Foundation where 100% of donations go directly to cancer research: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Graham Funeral Home & Crematory, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake.
