With great sadness, the family of Jorge Amaro announces his passing on April 10, 2025, at the age of 60.
Jorge Amaro was born in San Carlos, Tamaulipas, Mexico, on December 22, 1964. Those who knew him will remember a man of strong character-honest, humble, hardworking, and above all, brave. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He was also an excellent cook, known for his famous tripita and bistec tacos.
Above all, Jorge was a devoted husband and an exemplary father. He dedicated his life to his family with love, commitment, and unconditional care.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 37 years, Sonia Amaro; his daughters Iliana, Vale, and Jackie Amaro; his son-in-law Omar Romero; and his grand-dogs Bella, Sophie, Mini, Max, and Chloe (whom he called Máximo and Cleotilde). He is also survived by his siblings Enrique Amaro and Malena Barrón, in-laws, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him deeply.
Jorge was preceded in death by his parents, Enrique Amaro and Ana María Amaro De La Fuente-who, we are certain, welcomed him with open arms and with one of the cakes she used to bake for his birthday. He is also reunited with his beloved grandmother Triny, who spoiled him dearly and gave him the nickname "Cocon," a name that stayed with him among those who knew him since childhood.
Jorge clearly expressed his wish to say goodbye to his coworkers, whom he always held in the highest regard.
Jorge Amaro will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held on April 23, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at South Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1310 N Main St, Pearland, TX 77581.
The funeral service will take place on April 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 7539 Avenue K, Houston, TX 77012. Burial will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home & Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023.
