Jorge Marcos Velez

Jorge Velez, age 34, of Rochester, Minnesota, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 19, 1991, in Fort Riley, Kansas, the third of five children.

From a young age, Jorge was known for his incredible soccer talent. He joined a competitive traveling league at an early age, where his skills on the field often drew the attention of scouts. His passion, determination, and team spirit shone brightly in everything he did.

At the age of 18, Jorge was involved in a motor vehicle accident that changed his life and the lives of his family forever. Through God's grace, he was granted a miracle, the gift of more time here with us. Though he lost the ability to walk and faced numerous health challenges in the years that followed, Jorge never lost his faith, his humor, or his love for life.

He lived a God-fearing life filled with strength, courage, and compassion. Through every medical battle and obstacle, even through the tremendous loss of our father in 2016, Jorge persevered. His unwavering spirit inspired everyone who knew him. He continued to find joy in each day, to laugh, to love deeply, and to bring light to those around him.

Jorge was an incredible son, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He was deeply loved and will be remembered for his strength, faith, and the joy he brought to every room. He is survived by his family who loved him dearly, and by countless friends whose lives he touched along the way.

May he now run among the angels, free and whole again. Until we meet again.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 PM on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, as well as 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Wednesday. Burial will be at Oakwood East Cemetery in Rochester, MN.
