Jose Armendariz, 95, entered eternal rest on Saturday, August 16, 2025, in Roswell, New Mexico. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Artesia, New Mexico. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM, with a mass to begin at 10:00 AM, and a reception to follow. On April 20, 1930, Jose was born to Luis and Maria de Jesus Armendariz in Rancho de Rosas Santa Isabel, Chihuahua, Mexico. He came to the United States in 1951 with the Bracero Program and began working in the farming industry for Johnny Bowman. Jose remained in the farming industry his whole life until he retired while working under Cecil Cocklin. He appreciated the simple things in life and always enjoyed a good meal, especially one served by Los Agaves. Jose will be deeply missed by his friends and family. Those left to treasure their memories of Jose are his children: Jose M. Armendariz, Pablo Armendariz, Enrique "Ricky" Armendariz, and Luly Miramontes and her husband, Danny; grandchildren: Jadin Matthew Armendariz and his wife, Brianna, Anthony Armendariz and wife, Alyssa, Ricky "Kike" Armendariz, Jasmine Armendariz, Sierra Miramontes, and Marcos; and great-granddaughter, Luna Love Armendariz. Jose is preceded in death by his daughter, Blanca Armendariz; parents: Maria De Jesus Trevizo and Luis Armendariz; and siblings: Beatriz, Lupe, Luis, Juan, Raquel, Pablo, and Chita Armendariz. Jose's family would like to extend a special thank you to the Artesia Senior Center, Gentiva Hospice, and Mission Arch Nursing Center.
