Jose (Joe, Joseph) Raymond Avila III, age 59, passed away on March 16, 2024, surrounded by his sisters. Joseph was born in Springer, NM on March 12, 1965. Joseph last resided in Las Cruces, New Mexico after coming home from Corpus Christi, TX. Joseph fought a short but courageous battle with metastatic cancer, diagnosed in November of 2023.
Joseph was a retail sales worker as well as manager for several retail store chains in Texas as well as New Mexico. He was the proud owner of his newest adventure known as Avila's Oddities where he used his wonderful creativity to create one of a kind upcycled pieces that he sold from the Peddlers Pavilion and surrounding art fairs. One of his proudest moments was being the Jeweler of Threads for the Queen of the Las Cruces Renaissance Arts Faire, Misty Morton.
He is survived by his Father, Jose (Joseph) Avila Jr., his sisters Valerie Grace Avila and Victoria Trujillo Williams (Joseph Lee Williams) as well as nephews Zackrey Avila and Justus Williams along and niece Jasmine Moreno to include his grand nephew Nehemiah Trujillo and grand niece Alexa Avila and his many Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.
Joseph is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Gail Trujillo. And step father, Narciso David Trujillo. Joseph also leaves behind his cherished fur baby: Isis and feathered baby Bud the cockatiel.
Joseph touched many lives and will be truly missed by his friends and family. He adamantly declared that there be no services of any sort but his sister will plan a celebration of life and releasing of his ashes at a later date.
