In Loving Memory of José Cisco

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of José Cisco, born on September 25, 1940, in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He lived in Freehold for 70 years and was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend. He was the cherished son of the late Amelia Alcover and Juan Bautista Cisco and was predeceased by them and his son, Luis Antonio Cisco and by his siblings Ezekiel, Lucy, Consuelo, Sara, Juan, Lydia, and Elba Cisco.

Though we knew this moment would come, it doesn't ease the sorrow we feel. We'll always cherish how he showed us the magic of making coquito and his legendary empanadas. He loved barbecuing with the Crespo family, enjoying old cinema movies, and going crabbing and fishing. Seafood was his favorite meal, and he had a fondness for New Jersey lottery scratch-offs.

José leaves behind his children-Ricardo Cisco, José Durán, Christina Cisco-Fernandez, and Eddie Astacio-along with his significant other, Martina Crespo. In addition, he leaves behind many cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren who will forever hold his memory dear. He was a father figure to many, offering guidance and warmth to all who knew him. We take comfort in imagining him now reunited with loved ones, cooking up a storm in heaven's kitchen.

José will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
