Jose de Jesus Escamilla

Jose de Jesus Escamilla (known to most as Chuy), 77, of Aurora, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 26, 1948, in Durango, Mexico, the son of Francisco and Andrea (Ayala) Escamilla. Jose was the kindest and most loving person to all who had the pleasure of meeting him. He enjoyed spending time with his kids, attending his grandchildren's events and visiting with family and friends. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Jose is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elva, three sons, Jesse (Liz), Freddie and Omar (Iris). Grandchildren: Gio, Deven, Alina, Gianna, and Kayla Escamilla. Siblings: Macedonio (Antonia), Florinda (Miguel Angel) Diaz, Terry, Sergio (Letty), Dario (Marcie), Francisco (Mary), Juan Luis (Patty), Rogelio and Jorge Escamilla. Sisters-in-law: Maria (widow of the late Bulmaro Escamilla) and Elsa (widow of the late Martin Escamilla), and many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Andrea Escamilla, 4 brothers: Maro, Agustín, Bulmaro and Martin and two sisters, Reyna and Susie Escamilla.

He will be dearly missed and forever loved by all who knew him. Though he is no longer with us, his kindness, laughter and love will never be forgotten. We will carry his spirit. Family will be receiving guests Wednesday November 12, 2025 from 4pm to 8 pm at Dieterle Memorial Home 1120 S. Broadway in Montgomery. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday November 13, 2025 at 11am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 125 N. State Street in Aurora. Burial will be at Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora.
