Jose Diaz Obituary
Jose Andrade Diaz of Lubbock, better known as "Chepe" by his family and friends, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at the age of 72. He was born April 1, 1952, in Eddy, Texas to Daniel and Paula (Andrade) Diaz. Jose worked for Pyco Industries for many years. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, loved Mexican music, enjoyed telling jokes and stories, and spent time working on his plants. Jose married Cecelia Richardson on February 12, 2005, in Lubbock.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cecelia; daughter, Rita Diaz; stepchildren, Joe Daniel Munoz and Jessica Richardson; siblings, Guadalupe Diaz, Jesus Diaz, Donna Rangel, Angie Carrillo and Sandra Perez; and granddaughter, Anahi Botello.
Jose was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings, Daniel Diaz, Jr., Juan Diaz, Enrique Diaz, Theresa Diaz, Adelita Bustos, and Francis Diaz.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Combest Family Funeral Homes with rosary being cited at 6:30 pm. A Celebration Mass is scheduled for 10:00 am Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
