Jose “Archie” Diaz (Born: June 16, 1956), a resident of Chamisal, N.M., originally from La Villita, NM, has joined our lord in heaven January 1, 2025.
Archie was preceded in death by his father Luis Diaz and mother Rebecca M. Diaz, 4 brothers; Bon Diaz, Albert Diaz, Franklin Diaz and Tommy Diaz, 4 sisters; Teresita Medina, Melba Lopez, Orlinda Romero, and Helen Bustos, mother & father in-law Benigna & Rudolfo Romero & brother in-law Ralph Sena,
He is survived by his wife of 30 years whom he loved, Elisa Diaz, along with 2 sisters Dorthy Martinez (Clyde), Estella Diaz (Randy), 4 brother in-laws Wilfred Lucero (Helen), Rudy Lucero (Patricia), Roland Romero (Beatrice), Juan Romero (Tanya), 2 sister in-laws Angie Lucero (Clifford Martinez) and Debra Sena, his niece Desiree Lucero (James Martinez), great nephew and niece Julius and Havilah Martinez, Dominic Atencio and many more nieces and nephews, all of whom he adored and loved along with his goddaughter Serena Otteson and godson Joshua Romero and many other family and friends.
Archie was known for his love of art, such as painting and carving which he exceled in, but his true passion was training horses and jockeys around various states where he became known as the American horseman. He will forever be loved and missed.
Honorary pallbearers include James Martinez, Dominic Atencio, Joshua Romero, Donald Diaz, Eric Diaz, Roland Diaz, Randy Valdez and Calvin Martinez.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
Service times are as followed: Thursday, January 16th, 2025, a Public Visitation will take place at 9:00am, Rosary at 9:30am, and a funeral mass service at 10:00am at San Juan Bautista Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh NM, with burial to follow at La Villita Catholic Cemetery.
