José Antonio Hernández Durán nació el 10 de enero de 1972 en Ojo de Agua del Sabino, Zacatecas, México, hijo de Antonio Hernández Salas y María de Jesús Durán Valenzuela. Falleció el 7 de agosto de 2025 en Dallas, Texas, a la edad de 53 años.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres Antonio Hernández Salas y Maria de Jesus Duran Valenzuela y su hermano Eliseo Hernández Durán. Le sobreviven su amada esposa, Minerva Serna de Hernández, y sus hijos: Marco Antonio Hernández Serna, Yailin Hernández Serna y Kevin Hernández Serna.

Asimismo, le sobreviven sus hermanos; Rosario Hernández Durán, Manuel Hernández Durán, Santiago Hernández Durán, Ana María Hernández Durán, María Belén Hernández Durán, Blanca Estella Hernández Durán, María de Jesús Hernández Durán y María Rosalva Hernández Durán. José Antonio también fue un orgulloso abuelo de Osiel Sebastián Juárez y Tío de varios sobrinos y sobrinas.

José Antonio, conocido como Toño, fue un hombre de fe devoto que disfrutaba pasar tiempo con su familia, realizar convivios y viajar. Sirvió como ujier y maestro de escuela dominical, Alabando y Glorificando hasta su último suspiro. Será recordado por su bondad, su dedicación a Dios y su profundo amor por su familia.
