Jose Hernandez Jr. of Brownsville, Texas, devoted father, brother, and friend, entered eternal rest on August 5 th, 2025, at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Laredo, Mexico on October 16 th, 1955.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jose and Estafana Hernandez, and his brother Carlos Hernandez.

Left to cherish his memory are his son Juan Jose Hernandez, and his siblings Francisco Hernandez, Celia Cruz, Teresa Hernandez, and Antonia Hernandez.

We are saddened to announce the passing of our brother, Jose Hernandez, who left us on August 5 th, 2025. Although we have not seen him in many years, he will be remembered for the bond we shared in his early years.

His life took many paths, and while we may not know all the details, we recognize the impact he had on those who were close to him. We appreciate the friends he left behind who shared what a kind, caring, and helpful person Jose was.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory in Brownsville, Texas. 657 Springmart Blvd. (956) 350-8485.

The memorial service is scheduled from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 14 th, 2025, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 3 p.m. Services conclude at the end of the evening.
