Jose Manuel Laboy Robles, age 80, of Casselberry, Florida passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025.
Jose was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and graduated from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico in 1967 where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree. While working for the City of Fajardo as the Director of Finance, he would meet his wife, Irma. He then made a career change and followed in his father’s footsteps by joining U. S. Customs, retiring in 2006 after 17 years of service.
Jose loved music and his favorite artists ranged from Hector Lavoe and Gilberto Santa Rosa to The Eagles and Frank Sinatra, and was always the life of the party. He was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees, and loved classic cars, especially his yellow 1984 El Camino.
Jose was preceded in death by his parents Jose Manuel Laboy and Gladys Priscilla Laboy as well as his two brothers Jose Luis Laboy and Manuel Benjamin Laboy.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years Irma Nydia Laboy; his children Luz Priscilla Laboy, Jose M. Laboy III, Juan Carlos Laboy and Arlene Marie Laboy; his grandchildren Luis Oscar Cabrera Laboy, Valeria Cabrera Laboy, José Ricardo Betancourt Laboy, Faviola Imar Laboy, Imar Angelica Laboy, Angelimar Laboy, and Jayden Davila; as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
We’re comforted knowing that his legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, the community he built, and the memories we will cherish forever.
