Jose, also known as Joe, was a talented carpenter with over 30 years of experience, known for his craftsmanship, work ethic, and the pride he took in building things that lasted. Outside of his profession, Jose was a man full of life and passion. He had a deep love for dancing—especially to the vibrant sounds of Tejano music—and was always the first to step onto the dance floor. He found joy in the simple things: fishing at dawn, tending to his garden, perfecting his barbecue for family gatherings, and raising roosters, a tradition he cherished deeply. He also shared a special bond with his loyal dog, Arlo, who never left his side. But more than anything, Jose loved spending time with his family. Whether it was sharing stories, offering wisdom, or simply being present, he was happiest when surrounded by those he loved.
Jose is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Paula Munos, and his children: JoAngel Munos, Andres Munos and his wife Lacey, Phillip Jimenez and his wife Adrianna, Audra Rios and her husband Freddie, Jesse Ramos Jr., and Carlos Ramos.
He was a proud grandfather to: Jamila Tatum, Romelle Peoples Jr., Emily Peoples, Kynnedy Young, Dillon Young, Dominic Munos, Demetri Munos, Damien Munos, Penelope Jimenez, Adonis Jimenez, Eboni Ramos and Johnny Aleman.
His legacy also lives on through his great-grandchildren: Gibson Tatum, Ember Tatum, Mary Jane Peoples, Romelle Peoples III, Solai Hopkins, Isaac Martinez, Laynee Martinez and Nathan Aleman.
Jose is also survived by his siblings: Mary Elsa Castro, Manuela Munos Mueller, and Luis Munos.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodoso Jr. and Julia Garcia Munos, and his siblings: infant Andres Munos, Theodoso Munos III, Baldomero Munos, Guadalupe Munos, and Gregorio Munos Sr.
Jose’s joyful spirit, strong hands, and boundless love will be deeply missed by all who had the blessing of knowing him.
