Jose G. Polanco

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jose G. Polanco, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, on March 31, 2025 at the age of 92.
Jose was born in Pandora, TX on November 9th, 1932. He lived a full and adventurous life; marked by his service to his country, and his hard work as a roofer, lover of golf, fishing and the Astros!
As a young man, Jose served his country during the Korean War, earning the purple Heart and three bronze stars. His sacrifices will always be remembered with gratitude and respect.
Jose was also a man with an expansive family. He is preceded in death by parents Fransico and Maria Polanco; siblings, Cruz, Jesse, Mary and Ofelia Polanco; Grandsons, Ray and Christopher Carrera and granddaughter, Mary Cuevas.
He is survived by his sons, Bobby, Joe Ray and Phillip Polanco; Daughters, Frances Lerma and Rose Polanco; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed to know his love and wisdom. He took great pride in his family, and his legacy lives on through the generations.
Though he will be greatly missed, Jose's memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him. His contributions to his country and his family will never be forgotten.
Friends and family will gather for visitation on April 11th, 2025 from 6 pm - 7 pm with the Holy Rosary to be prayed at 7 pm at Grace Funeral Home, 2401 Houston Hwy., in Victoria, Texas. Funeral services begin at 1 pm on April 12th, 2025 at Grace Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
