Jose (Joe) Pompa Jr, 51, of Tulare, California, went home to his Heavenly Father on January 6, 2025. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle; Joe will always be remembered for his humor.
Born on November 16, 1973, to Mary Lou Alverado, Joe grew up the second eldest of two sisters, Tina and Lisa and brother, Robert. He attended and graduated from Tulare Union High School. Joe is best described as a comedian, always telling jokes or hilarious stories that would make you think they were made up but were real stories.
In the Summer of 1989, he met the love of his life Betsy Hernandez and on May 31, 2002, they finally tied the knot. The two shared a life that lasted nearly 36 years and yielded four beautiful children and three grandchildren. Joe loved playing horseshoes, fishing, watching his Tampa Bay Buccaneers and spending time with his loved ones.
Joe is survived by his wife, Betsy; children, Heidi, Vanessa (son in law Micheal), Joe, and Blain; grandchildren, Amiyah, Robert, and mother, Mary; sister, Tina; brother, Robert and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by sister Lisa Schoolcraft, nephews, Richard and Robert Hernandez.
A service to celebrate Joes life will be on Thursday, January 30, 2025. Viewing will be from 9am-10:30am at Sterling and Smith, 409 N K St, Tulare, CA 93274.
