Jose Alfredo Sanchez Ponce De Leon, 67, passed away on January 19, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on May 24, 1958, in Mexico City, Mexico, Alfredo lived a life defined by dedication, craftsmanship, and quiet generosity.
Alfredo received his education at Escuela Técnica Industrial in Mexico City, where he trained as an electrician. However, it was in the flooring industry that he found his true calling. As a master flooring installer, his skill and precision became widely recognized. Over the course of his career, Alfredo worked on a vast array of projects and was frequently acknowledged for the excellence of his work. His attention to detail and unwavering standards earned him the trust of clients who knew that even the most challenging jobs would be completed with perfection. His pride in his craft and tireless work ethic set him apart and left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of working with him.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Alfredo was a man who found joy in the simple things and gave freely of himself to others. He loved staying busy with home projects—always creating, fixing, or building something with his own hands. Cooking was another passion; he took pride in preparing meals for those he loved, infusing each dish with care. When it came time to unwind, Alfredo enjoyed bubble baths and watching his favorite TV series. Music brought out his playful spirit, he loved to dance and fill the room with laughter. His dogs, Tyson and Koba, were constant companions who brought him great comfort and joy.
Alfredo’s faith was a quiet but guiding force throughout his life. Baptized as a Christian, he carried his beliefs in his heart and lived them through acts of kindness, generosity, and service to others. He was known for showing love not through words but through action—always helping where he could and continuing to give selflessly until his final days.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Rita Garcia; his son, Alfredo Sanchez; his daughter, Marisol Sanchez Garcia; and his grandchildren: Brandon, Donavon, Alfredo Jr, and Zayden. He also leaves behind his siblings: Irene, Magdalena, Margarita, Carlos, Rosa Maria, Alma, Beatriz, and Patricia.
Alfredo was preceded in death by his father Gregorio Sanchez; Mother Beatriz Ponce De Leon; and siblings Antonio, Silvia, and Maricela.
His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched—with every floor laid perfectly beneath someone’s feet, every meal shared around a table he built or fixed with care, every laugh sparked by one of his jokes. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a reminder of a life well-lived through love, labor, and quiet grace.
