Josef O. Hirschmann

Josef O. Hirschmann, 88, of Meadville and formerly of Espyville, passed away suddenly at home on Friday, September 29, 2023.
He was born April 27, 1935, in Espyville, a son of Arthur R. and Margaret Woods Hirschmann. He married Dolores McElhinny June 9, 1956.
Joe was a 1953 graduate of Conneaut Lake High School. He was a farmer in Espyville his entire life. Joe was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church. He enjoyed wintering in Florida for 36 years and was an avid cyclist enjoying long distance rides.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Dolores, included two sons, Roy Hirschmann (Carol) of Espyville and Josef A. Hirschmann (Kathleen) of Beaver Falls; five grandchildren, Brian, Ben, Brad, Sherri, and Joe; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Thomas C. Hirschmann; two sisters; and one brother.
A Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be Thursday, October 5th at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church, 155 S. Ninth St., Conneaut Lake with Fr. David Carter as Celebrant.
The inurnment will be in Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery.
