Born to eternal life on December 14, 2023, at the age of 85 years. Beloved husband of Rose (nee Bauer) for 61 years. Loving father of Susan (Carl) Lang and Thomas (Bonnie) Mack. Proud grandpa of Samantha (Dan) Olson, Benjamin Lang, and Daniel (Megan) Chadwick. Cherished great-grandpa of Oliver Eric, Archer Josef, and Sebastian Patrick. Brother-in-law of Elisabeth (the late Martin) Bauer. Further loved and remembered by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Josef and Maria Mack and brother Valentine (the late Anna) Mack.
Josef was born in Croatia on February 11, 1938. He immigrated to the United States when he was 17 years old. Shortly thereafter, he started a lifelong career as a tool and die maker. Joe loved to fish and enjoyed playing cards, especially Sheepshead. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 20 at St. William Parish, 440 N. Moreland Blvd from 10 AM until time of Mass at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
