With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Josefina Batrez, age 63, originally from Durango, Mexico, who left this world on October 2, 2025, in Joliet, Illinois. She was born on March 19, 1962 to Ramon Batrez and Ramona Castillo.
Josefina worked as a housekeeper, but beyond her work, she was a creative and caring women. She loved making natural face masks and handcrafted jewelry, always finding joy in life's simple details.
She was a happy and charismatic person, whose smile could brighten any room. Everywhere she went, she lifted spirits and left behind warmth, joy and light.
She is survived by her children Angel Ponce, Crystal Ponce and Abigail Ponce; thirteen grandchildren; one great granddaughter, and seven siblings, all of whom will remember her with love and gratitude.
The memory of Josefina will forever live in the hearts of her family and friends, who will miss her deeply
