Joselito "Joey" Amurao, 65, died Thursday, July 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was greatly loved by his wife, children, grandchildren and their families.

The son of Fermin and Felipa Amurao, Joselito was born on Dec. 1, 1959, in Poblacion West, Alitagtag Batangas, Philippines. On Nov. 9, 1986, he married Bienvenida Garcia at the Invencion de la Sta. Cruz Parish in the Philippines.

He was a graduate of Feati University, where he received a Bachelor's of Science in Architecture.

In 1992, they moved to the United States and raised their two children in the Aurora community.

Joselito was a warm and loving individual who liked to have fun and spend time with his family. He leaves a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Survivors include son James (Lyinda) Amurao, daughter Frances Kaye (Federico) Amurao; three grandchildren – Federico, Nathaniel, and Tobias; siblings – Arsenia A. Feliciano, Carmelita A. Anorico, Avelina A. Martinez, Angelina Amurao, Concepcion A. Lubang, Gloria A. Mendoza, Rodrigo Q. Amurao, and Generoso Q. Amurao.

He was predeceased by his parents Fermin and Felipa Amurao; and his sister Nenita A. Dela Torre.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 A.M., Friday, July 25, 2025, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2900 E Main St., St Charles, IL. Interment will be at Union Cemetery, St. Charles. Family and friends will gather for visitation from 3-9:00 P.M., Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Yurs Funeral Home of Geneva, 1771 State St., Geneva, IL.
